Multi-factor authentication

Introduction

We are introducting multi-factor authentication (MFA) to our services. This means that you will need to use a second authentication method to access your account. This will help to protect your account from unauthorised access.

What is MFA?

MFA is a security feature that requires you to use a second authentication method to access your account. Initially this will be a code sent to the email address associated with your account. In the future we intend to add other methods such authenticator apps and SMS.

What do I need to do?

You will need to ensure your email address is up-to-date. You can check your email address from the Administrators tab in the Settings within SAM.

What if I share my account with someone else?

If each of the account’s users has access to the email address then you should be fine. If you share your account with someone who does not have access to the email address then you will need to add them as an administrator to your account. You can do this from the Administrators tab in the Settings within SAM.
