Introduction

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets forth the privacy practices of Selector Limited and its current and future Selector Affiliates (collectively, “Selector”).

Selector is a software as a service psychometric assessment provider (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”) located at www.selectorgroup.com (the “Website”) and other websites that link to this Privacy Policy.

We protect your privacy to the best of our abilities, and treat your personal information (“Personal Data”) as required by the New Zealand Privacy Act, 2020.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties, as explained in more detail below. In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” “our,” and other similar references mean Selector, “you” and “your” and other similar references mean any user of the Services, and “Selector Affiliates” means any parent, subsidiary, member, officer, director, employee, agent, or contractor of Selector or any entity under common control with Selector.

When you visit our Website or any other features, content, or applications offered from time-to-time by the Company in connection with the Website (collectively, the “Services”) in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practises and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent that we will collect, use, and share your Personal Data in the following ways.

European Union Personal Data

If you are located in the EU, United Kingdom, Lichtenstein, Norway, or Iceland, you may have additional rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) related to your Personal Data, as further described below. Selector will be the controller of your Personal Data processed in connection with the Services. Note that we may also process Personal Data of our customers’ end users or employees in connection with our provision of services to customers, in which case we are the processor of Personal Data. If we are the processor of your Personal Data (i.e., not the controller), please contact the controller party in the first instance to address your rights with respect to such data.

  • Information about how you use the Services (for example, traffic volumes, pages visited)
  • Your IP address and/or other device identifying data
  • We use cookies to track the state of your session

We also collect usage and performance information that is not Personal Data or that we aggregate so that it no longer personally identifies an individual.

Assessment administrators

  • Company/personal name
  • Contact information
  • Payment-related information
  • Any Personal Data that you add to our applications in order for us to provide the Services requested by you (including Personal Data you provide that identifies candidates)

Assessment candidates

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Information about your educational level
  • Information about your vocation
  • Your responses to the questions in our assessment questionnaires
  • Information about how you use the Services (for example, traffic volumes, pages visited)

How we use the Personal Data we collect

We use the Personal Data we collect, and may share such Personal Data with other entities (such as service providers), to:

  • Provide our Services
  • Identify you when you sign-in to your account or assessment session
  • Notify you of events (such as assessment completion, scheduled service and maintenance, service updates)
  • Communicate with you in relation to Selector and any other Services we provide from time to time
  • Carry out research and analysis so we can make informed decisions about our Services
  • Carry out research and analysis so we can create new Services or improve existing Services
  • Gather broad, anonymous, demographic data (such as number of vistors from a particular geographic area)
  • Verify and carry out financial transactions in relation to payments for Services
  • Co-operate with any government, industry or regulatory authorities

Service Providers

We also share Personal Data with third party service providers and agents when necessary to complete a transaction initiated by you or provide you with a product or service you have requested. These third-parties may have access to your Personal Data to the extent required to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose, and are contractually obliged to use your Personal Data consistently with this Privacy Policy.

Your rights

All users of our Services

  • You can ask us to delete any information we store about you by email support@selectorgroup.com
  • We may sell data that we collect in an aggregated format. This data will not identify you personally. We may share and sell anonymous aggregated data with third parties, including service providers, our affiliates, agents and current and prospective business partners.
  • We may choose to sell our business. In these types of transactions, your information is typically one of the business assets transferred to the third party purchaser. You acknowledge and agree that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of us or our assets may continue to use your Personal Data as set out in this Privacy Policy.
  • You have the right to ask for a copy of any Personal Data we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. Assessment administrators

  • You can access, correct or update most information yourself through the Settings options in SAM (the Selector Assessment Manager) and can request assistance via emailing support@selectorgroup.com
  • You can opt-out of any marketing material we send you at any time by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link present in any marketing related emails

We will respond to all requests we receive within 20 working days but usually much faster. We will also clearly explain what we can and cannot do for you and why.

Security

  • We protect our websites, applications and infrastructure to the best of our abilities but we cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorised entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time.
  • Any information sent through Selector is passed through a secure server using encryption technology. All Personal Data stored by us is protected through secure passwords, user log-ons and other security procedures.
  • In addition, our employees and the contractors who provide services related to our information systems are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any Personal Data we hold. However, we will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorised access of your Personal Data.
  • You play an important role in keeping your Personal Data secure by maintaining the confidentiality of any password and accounts used on Selector. Please notify us immediately if there is any unauthorised use of your account by any other Internet user or any other breach of security.

Data retention

We store backup copies of our databases to help with disaster recovery or other incidents. We may also keep Personal Data for legal, tax, and accounting requirements as needed.

In situations where we can’t practically delete your Personal Data, such as backup archives, or accounting records, we will store these in a secure manner and they will not be used for further processing, such as communication or marketing.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may amend or update this Privacy Policy from time to time, with or without notice to you, to better reflect changes to laws, regulatory requirements and/or enhancements to our services. You agree to be bound by the Privacy Policy that is in effect at the time you use Selector. Revised versions will be effective immediately once posted on our Website.
